Rällä is a folk music group from Oulu, Finland, known for their energetic vision, deep knowledge of tradition, and lively ensemble playing.
Rooted in Finnish folk music, their sound combines northern melancholy with unrestrained joy, creating performances that are both powerful and inviting.
The group features Osmo Hakosalo and Erja Pätsi on fiddle and Jouko Pääkkönen on accordion. Rällä’s founding members also include accordionist Anne-Mari Kanniainen.
Together they have built a reputation for vibrant live shows that seamlessly fuse traditional Finnish folk songs with fresh interpretations and new compositions.
Rällä has performed widely in Finland and abroad, carrying the spirit of northern Finland to international stages. Their music reflects both the rugged beauty of their home region and the openness to innovation that defines today’s folk scene.
